Report indicates that the G5 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors have declared their support for the Presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress and the Labour Party.

It has been revealed that 3 out of G5 PDP governors have professed their support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu in London today while 2 other governors declared support for Peter Obi.

In a tweet shared by @Arabinrin Aderonke, she noted that Governors Nyesome Wike, Seyi Makinde and Samuel Ortom are Batified!!

While the other two Governors, Okezie Ikpeazu and Ifeanyi Ugwanyi are said to be Obidients. This news comes following the internal crisis in the PDP.

Recall that the crisis in the party began after the party’s national convention in May where former Vice President Atiku Abubakar defeated 12 other aspirants, including Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, to emerge the party presidential candidate for 2023 elections.

Disappointed with the outcome of the primary, Mr Wike who leads a group of five PDP governors (G5) demanded the replacement of the party’s National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu with a southerner to correct “regional imbalance” in the PDP since Messrs Atiku and Ayu are both northerners.

The G5 who were absent at the flag-off of the PDP presidential campaign in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, also boycotted activities organised by Atiku and the national leadership of the party.
