FLACHBACK: What Peter Obi should do if he really wants to be Nigerian president – Soludo

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party can only actualize his dream as President only if he returns to his former party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).

This is according to a post made on his Facebook page in November 22 - three months before the presidential election.

According to Soludo in the 2022 post, Obi, who is also a former governor of the state lacks the capacity to win the presidency by desperately jumping from one party to another.

He urged the former Anambra governor to caution his supporters against attacking his critics, particularly on the social media space.

He said: “Let me once again wish my brother Peter Obi good luck. He should have fun and enjoy the fleeting frenzy of the moment. But he must moderate the desperation as exhibited by his social media mob.

There is a limit to propaganda. A mob action often reflects the character of its leader. No one has a monopoly of social media violence, and no one should play God. Life won’t end by February/March 2023.

“I hope that after February 2023, Peter Obi will return to APGA (the party that made him everything he is politically) as I offered him on 8th March, 2022 and begin the hard work, if he truly wants to be president of Nigeria.

“It won’t happen by desperately jumping from one party to another or by unleashing a social media mob on everyone who slightly disagrees with you”.

Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was declared winner of the February 25 presidential election.

He defeated 17 other candidates who took part in the election. He scored a total of 8,794,726 votes, the highest of all the candidates, thus meeting the first constitutional requirement to be declared the winner.

He also scored over 25 percent of the votes cast in 30 states, more than the 24 states constitutionally required.

INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, who announced the final results in the early hours of Wednesday in Abuja, said Atiku Abubakar of the PDP came second in the election.

Atiku polled a total of 6,984,520 votes in the election.
