The former Governor of Rivers State, Donald Duke has returned to the largest opposition party, People's Democratic Party (PDP), The Punch reports.

The disclosure was made by Effiok Cobham, the chairman of the PDP caretaker committee in the south-south state on Wednesday, May 26 at a press conference in Calabar, according to The Punch.

When asked to confirm the speculations that the former governor had returned to the party, he said: “Yes, he has registered."

Donal Duke contested the 2019 presidential election as the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). He had earlier served as a two-time governor of Rivers State under the PDP between 1999 and 2007.
