Bulkachuwa is courageous – Ndume hails confession of outgoing Senator

Borno South Senator, Ali Ndume has described the recent confession by Senator Adamu Muhammad Bulkachuwa, as courageous.

This comes after Senator Bulkachuwa bragged about how he influenced the decision of his wife, Zainab Bulkachuwa, a retired Justice of the Appeal Court on certain cases that affected his colleagues in the Senate.

According to Ndume, people who have direct access to court justices are mostly tempted because the system is compromised.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Ndume said people will pressure those linked to judges.

According to Ndume: “People are caught in between what is right and social, my first wife is a high court judge. When people know your wife is a judge, they pressure you.

“We are all humans. It depends on how strong you are to stand against these things. When the system is compromised, you will be tempted.

“But, I like his courage of confessing publicly, I think it will help people, system to look inward and when you see that what you did is wrong, the best thing is to say I’m sorry. Maybe, that will help others to do the same.”

Bulkachuwa bowed out of the bench after clocking the statutory retirement age of 70 years for justices of the Appeal Court in 2020.
