Ayu said he has nothing to lose due to his relationship with Tinubu, Atiku - Wike alleges

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State says that National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu had once said he was close to the presidential candidate of the All Progress Congress Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

Speaking in an exclusive chat with Channels TV on Monday, March 27 on the recent suspension of Ayu from his state, Wike alleged that Ayu had claim severally that he has nothing to lose should any of them win because of the relationship he has with them.

He said: "If you know Ayu very well. He has told us before that he is very close to the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He also claims that he very close to the presidential candidate of the PDP, so whoever that wins or emerges, he has nothing to lose."

"Let him challenge me if he didn't say that."

Meanwhile, Wike has also said he is in full support of the suspension of Ayu.

The comes after the Executive Committee of the PDP in Igyorov Ward of Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State, suspended Ayu on Sunday, after passing a vote of no confidence on him for anti-party activities.

Speaking on the issue, Wike who was a guest on Sunrise Daily stated that he supports the move because Ayu played a major role in the colossal failure of the PDP in the 2023 general elections.

“I am in support of the suspension,” Wike replied when asked if he was behind the actions of the PDP officials in Benue.
