Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar polled 44,841 votes, emerging victorious at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential primary election in Yobe State.

This was disclosed by State Primary Election Returning Officer, Hajiya Ma’am Kyari, on Monday, May 25, at the party’s secretariat in Damaturu.

According to the official collation, Rotimi Chibuki Amechi secured 300 votes, while Mohamed Hayatu-Deen got 365 votes as no other candidate(s) contested in the state primary.

“Having scored the highest number of valid votes cast, H.E. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON, is hereby declared the winner of the ADC Presidential Primary Election in Yobe State”, Kyari declared.

She commended party members, officials, and security agencies for ensuring a smooth and orderly process, and thanked all aspirants and their supporters for maintaining decorum.

The Yobe State ADC governorship candidate, Kassim Gana Geidam, praised the peaceful conduct of the primary, noting the strong support from party members.

He also lauded the state party executive, security agencies, candidates across zones A, B, and C, and traditional rulers for their neutrality and maturity.

Geidam appealed to all party members to remain peaceful in all political activities, saying that such is the atmosphere the party desires.
