Akpabio responds to Senator Abbo's allegation of being behind sack

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has dismissed the allegation of being the mastermind of the sack of Senator Elisha Abbo, the lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial District in the national assembly.

Recall Abbo was kicked out from the Senate by the Court of Appeal on Monday, October 16.

Eseme Eyiboh, media aide to the Senate President said his principal has no hand in the court judgement which sacked Abbo from the upper legislative chambers, Daily Trust reported on Monday night, October 16.

Eyiboh said: “It is unfortunate if he actually said that Akpabio was responsible for his removal. That’s the swan song of a man looking for scapegoats.

“The Court of Appeal across the country decides cases based on the provisions of the Electoral Act and evidence advanced by petitioners.

"The Senate President has no reason to witch-hunt any of his colleagues.”

Abbo was sacked by the Appeal Court, Abuja.

The federal lawmaker confirmed that the court voided his election and then ruled in favour of Amos Yohanna, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
