Abia All Progressive Congress, APC says the suspension of the National Chairman of the party must follow due process

Reacting on this development, the Abia State chairman of APC, Hon Donatus Nwankpa says, the suspension is of little or no consequences.

Nwankpa told PUNCH "you cannot suspend the National Chairman without going through a competent disciplinary committee".

According to him, "by the party constitution, the ward must suspend him first, then the local government ratifies it, then the state approves it. He can only be expelled by the national (body)".

On the next move, he said nobody is going to comment until they get the true facts and hear from both sides, stating "it is a high time something is done to remedy it because of the election coming up in the state.

"There is a procedure of suspending a national executive member and he is the national chairman of the (party's) NEC", the state APC boss said.

It would be recalled that the APC in Edo State, Tuesday announced the suspension of Oshiomole from the party.
