APC chieftain in Lagos collapse structures for Labour Party

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Moshood Adegoke Salvador has collapsed his political group, Conscience Forum into the Labour Party in the state, Politics Nigeria reports.

Recall that Salvador's parallel state Congress held in 2021 was not recognised by the APC leadership at the national level. The emergence of the new bloc was a clear indication that the crisis rocking APC in the state.

The APC Chieftain was once a one-time Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Since his efforts to become the APC flagbearer in respect of the 2023 election ended in futility, reports have emerged that he has been adopted as the governorship candidate for Labour Party in Lagos state, according to Politics Nigeria.

The announcement that the Conscience Forum is an indication of an 'endorsement' as the governorship candidate.

“I am delighted to inform you that conscience forum structure has been adopted by the Labour Party,” a statement by his media team said.

“This is the greatest opportunity to regain our political relevance, recognitions and benefits that was lost in APC.

“Also, Hon. Salvador is now the governorship candidate for Labour Party in Lagos state. The window of substitutions is also available for our members. If you’re interested in contesting for reps, assembly, or senate, office is opened at Salvador towers to meet the state chairman and complete your INEC form.”

A formal announcement is expected to be made soon.
