Controversial lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, believes former President Goodluck Jonathan is the only person who can defeat President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

According to him, in a post on X, President Jonathan is "the only person in Southern Nigeria who stands any chance" of beating the incumbent.

"GEJ is the only person in Southern Nigeria that stands any chance of defeating Tinubu. If not GEJ in the coalition, let the North have the ticket," he wrote in a post on X.

Adeyanju, who was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has recently locked horns with Obidients, supporters of the Labour Party and Peter Obi, after he said the former Anambra State Governor would never be president.

While the political permutations persist ahead of the 2027 presidential election, Adeyanju has disclosed his preference for activist Omoyele Sowore for the Nigerian presidential seat. He also intensified his criticism of 'Obidients' following a social media clash with Serah Ibrahim, an ally of Obi.

According to him, he voted for Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC) during the 2023 election, but would not mind supporting President Tinubu in 2027 should the African Democratic Congress (ADC) opposition coalition present Obi as its flagbearer.

GEJ is the only person in Southern Nigeria that stand any chance of defeating Tinubu. If not GEJ in the coalition, let the north have the ticket.
