Health ministry to train intensive care workers nationwide - Ehanire

The Federal Government is set to begin training of intensive care workers across the country, according to Health Minister Dr Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire.

Ehanire added that the country needs to urgently make provision for isolation centres as well as beds across the nation.

He made the statement during the media briefing of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 on Wednesday.

A statement was released on the official Twitter page of the Federal Ministry of Health, @Fmohnigeria.

The statement reads: "@Fmohnigeria have completed plans to start the training & capacity building of much needed intensive care workers in various parts of the country & that an advisory on case management has been developed.

"The #HMH @DrEOEhanire called on all Distinguished elected Senators, Honourable Members of House of Representatives & Assembly to support disease surveillance processes, notification efforts and the drive to rapidly increase bed spaces in their constituencies.

"Another pressing urgency is the need to prepare & provide isolation centres & more bed spaces in all states of the Federation. I wish to apply to each state authority & FCT to give first-line attention to this requirement in order to meet expectations & obligations," @DrEOEhanire said during the press briefing.

According to the statement, "@DrEOEhanire added that the fact-finding team that was deployed to Kano state by @Fmohnigeria was well received by @GovUmarGanduje.

"They have been able to conduct an appraisal of the situation & are currently looking for outlines to provide technical support."
