The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekweazu has revealed the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control stance in relation to vaccines being developed around the world.

Speaking in an interview on Channels Television, the NCDC boss said Nigeria wants to be part of the response.

He added that Nigeria was more interested in a broader approach and promised to investigate what Madagascar used before introducing the herbal mixture to Nigerians. He also used that medium to discredit the role of chloroquine in producing a cure.

Going further, he laid bare the agency's decision of wanting to be part of the clinical trials and a long term solution that will benefit us all.

"We are working very closely with the WHO. We collaborate on everything we do. Clinical trials are never done in one place. They are done across the world in different places and amongst different age groups. We want to participate in long term solution that will bring solutions to the virus," the NCDC stated.
