The PTF is not a toothless bulldog, Aliyu says

The National Coordinator of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Dr Sani Aliyu has reiterated the importance of adhering to safety guidelines publicised by itself and the NCDC.

Speaking at a briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, Aliyu drummed support for obedience and public support.

"The PTF is not a toothless bulldog. We need the support of the public in times of this pandemic. That is why we have been working with religious and community leaders," he said.

Speaking on the measures utilised by the PTF in curbing offenders who violate social distancing rules, the National coordinator explained that the task force had been supporting states in the punishment meted out to violators.

"We support state agencies implementing fines for people violating the guidelines. It is not easy violating people's freedom. However we have to be safe," Aliyu stressed.
