Stop blaming China for nothing- China Envoy responds to Ezekwesili

After a fiery article blaming China for the spread of coronavirus to Africa as well as impoverishing the continent with big debts, Chartered accountant, Obiageli Ezekwesili asked the most populous nation to release Africa from debt.

In the article she penned down last month, debt relief for a virus they caused would be fair to Nigeria and the Africa continent.

Unfortunately, that did not go the way she expected as Press Secretary of the Chinese Embassy, Sun Saixiong fired heavy words at the ex-Minister saying the coronavirus was never China's fault.

Choosing to guilt-trip the accountant, Sun said no one held US responsible for the H1N1 flu which broke out in 214 countries.

Sun's words: "Did anyone ask the US to offer compensations for the 2009 H1N1 flu, which was first diagnosed before breaking out on a large scale in the US and then spread to 214 countries and regions, killing nearly 200,000 people? AIDS was first reported in the US in the 1980s and then swept across the world, including Africa, causing untold sufferings to countless victims. And we don’t remember Mrs Ezekwesili coming forward to ask the US to be held accountable?"

Going further the Chinese envoy argued that the enemy is the virus and not China and writing articles about that would not save lives lost.

"We must understand that our enemy is the virus, not China. The international community can only defeat the virus by pulling together. Attacking and discrediting others will not save time and lives lost. We hope that Mrs Ezekwesili will respect facts, science, and international consensus, stop letting herself dance to other’s tune, stop attacking and blaming China for nothing, and stop making irresponsible remarks," Sun hit at Ezekwesili.

Not willing to back down without a fight, the Co-founder of Transparency International tweeted about the response and promised to write a rejoinder.
