Sanwo-Olu deploys vehicles for coronavirus sensitization

"We will continue to update and inform residents until everyone is aware" - Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu

The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has deployed vehicles to drive the sensitization of the deadly coronavirus across the state.

Lagos is currently the epicentre of the virus in Nigeria after recording 44 out the 65 cases in the country and as such, the need to sensitize Lagosians about the magnitude of the threat arises.

According to the governor in hist Instagram post on Friday, everyone needs to "understand the messages on the severity of this disease and the danger it poses to us as a society."

The statement reads:

"We are now in an era where constant sensitization and awareness drives are key to the slowing down and bringing to an end the transmission and spread of the novel coronavirus disease.

"In order to ensure that everyone, either young or old, literate or non-literate totally grasps and understands the messages on the severity of this disease and the danger it poses to us as a society, we have taken delivery of and deployed several vehicles within the metropolis as an advocacy tool to further assist in the fight against the spread of the COVID-19 disease.

"We will take our messages to every nook and cranny of Lagos, we will continue to update and inform residents until everyone is aware that we must adapt to the new lifestyle we have been made to live in order to beat this disease.

"I believe that with God on our side, and us doing the right thing by maintaining social distancing, washing our hands regularly, sanitizing as many times as possible, and maintaining good hygiene, we shall prevail."
