Patient is stable- Health Minister reacts to confirmed coronavirus case

The Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire has assured Nigerians that the patient diagnosed with coronavirus is stable.

He made that statement yesterday when he paid a visit to the Lagos State Public Health Emergency Operations Centre and Isolation Unit of the Mainland hospital in Yaba.

This was while he met with the Commissioner for Health in Lagos State, Prof Akin Abayomi as well as a LUTH Official, Prof Bode.

"I can confirm that the patient is stable. @NCDCGov has been proactive in the establishment of the PHEOC, which has now been activated for #COVID19 response, and in the deployment of a National Rapid Response Team (RRT) to support the response efforts," he said.

The Minister also expressed his appreciation to staff members involved in tracing the case.

"Special thanks to all staff members managing the treatment of the confirmed case and working tirelessly to trace contacts to reduce the chance of spreading," he added.
