Panic as passenger suspected to be coronavirus positive vomits on Air Peace flight

The Kano State Government has debunked claims that it has recorded its first case of COVID-19.

This was after the pilot of an Air Peace aircraft refused to allow passengers disembark from a Lagos to Kano flight after one of them vomited during the flight.

This created panic as many of the passengers suspected that the sick person may have been infected with the coronavirus.

Salihu Yakasai, the Director-General, Media and Communications for Kano State Government, has now revealed that the patient has malaria and not coronavirus after he was tested.

He tweeted: "The video of airpeace that happened earlier in Kano is NOT a case of #COVID?19. The pilot refused to open the doors when the plane landed after a passenger was reported to be vomiting, till a team of CDC experts came & examined the person & found out that its a case of malaria".

Meanwhile, the number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 has been confirmed to have risen to 42 after two new cases got confirmed in Lagos.

This was disclosed by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Tuesday.
