Fintech company, Paystack, has said it will offer free digital payment solutions for 40 businesses providing essential services due to effects of COVID-19.

The beneficiaries of the initiative will be businesses from Nigeria and Ghana, according to Paystack's statement on Tuesday.

The company has partnered with top digital agencies in Nigeria and Ghana including CKDIGITAL, Cregital, Jrango Technologies, Pulse Africa, Touchcore, Crowncity Technologies and WopeDigital to make it possible.

It noted that it has a preference for businesses such as restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, delivery companies, amongst others.

The company said interested entrepreneurs could visit its website for application.

Due to the effect of the pandemic, businesses in Lagos, Abuja, Accra, amongst others are on lockdown and many have been forced to adopt digital payment platforms.

As of today, there are over 1000 and 700 coronavirus cases in Ghana and Nigeria respectively.
