Former Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani has questioned why Nigeria's borders remain closed to rice importation but stay open to the global pandemic called coronavirus.

Shehu Sani stated this after Nigeria confirmed a third case of coronavirus in Lagos.

The new case is a Nigerian female, about 30 years of age, who returned from the United Kingdom on March 13th, 2020, according to Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on New Media, Jubril Gawat.

The lady who is currently being attended to at the Mainland General Hospital is said to have developed symptoms of the virus after observing self-isolation.

Reacting to the development, Shehu Sani tweeted: “Our borders remain open for Corona and closed for Rice.”
