Nigeria's COVID-19 cases rise to 33,153, death toll now 744

The number of coronavirus cases in Nigeria has risen to a total of 33,153 infections as at Monday night after recording a 595 new cases.

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, NCDC, made this known on its official Twitter account.

A total of 20 states of the federation account for the newly recorded cases with Lagos the epicentre having 156 new cases.

Oyo state comes next with 141 cases while the Federal Capital Territory recorded 99 cases of the respiratory illness, according to the NCDC.

The agency also announced that there are now at least13,617 discharged patients in the country with 744 deaths so far.
