Nigeria records 48 new coronavirus cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced 48 new coronavirus cases in the country.

According to the agency, this record were recorded in five states and the Federal capital territory.

The total number of confirmed cases in the country stands at 166,146 as released on Wednesday, May 26, 2021.

Lagos State led with 22 new cases, Rivers State and Enugu with 11 cases each. Kaduna, FCT and Gombe recorded one case each.

The NCDC also confirmed that there were no deaths recorded, although the total number of coronavirus deaths is 2,071.

The data also indicates that 156,529 have been successfully treated and discharged.

Nigeria has so far conducted over two million tests and 1,929,237 million people have since been vaccinated with the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine.
