The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has gotten testing reagents to continue their work of wide-scale testing across the nation.

The Africa Centre for Disease Control and Prevention helped donate the needed materials to the agency under an initiative tagged "Partnership to Accelerate COVID19 Testing."

The initiative is to ensure the production of test kits and acceleration of testing in the African region.

The NCDC was indeed grateful to them and sent out a tweet in appreciation.

It read thus: "We are grateful to @AfricaCDCfor providing additional lab equipment & testing reagents to Nigeria, as part of Partnership to Accelerate #COVID19 Testing (PACT)

The initiative aims to ensure the production of test kits and acceleration of testing in the African region."

Less than a month ago, the NCDC made an urgent request for RNA extraction kits.

Taking to Twitter, the Director-General of the NCDC, Chikwe Ihekweazu tasked the country to help him find some.

The essence was to expand COVID-19 testing.

The provision of these reagents is an answer to that prayer, one the health agency is immensely grateful for.
