The President of Madagascar - Andry Rajoelina has approved and launched the use of a miracle COVID-19 cure for its citizens.

The drug called "COVID-Organics" which was made by the Madagascar Institute of Applied Research (IMRA) is made of a tonic derived from Artemisia, a plant with proven efficacy in treating malaria as well as other indigenous herbs.

While it is yet to be tested internationally, MyNigeria.com gathered that unarmed Madagascar soldiers went door-to-door in the capital Antananarivo, doling out sachets of a local herbal tea.

"Tests have been carried out -- two people have now been cured by this treatment," Rajoelina told ministers, diplomats and journalists at the IMRA.

"This herbal tea gives results in seven days," he said.

Downing a dose, he said: "I will be the first to drink this today, in front of you, to show you that this product cures and does not kill."

"This herbal tea gives results in seven days," Rajoelina announced at its official launch on Tuesday.

"We can change the history of the entire world," he added.

While there have been warnings from mainstream scientists about the potential risk from untested herbal brews, Rajoelina sanctioned the use of the drug, stating that it was his duty was to "protect the Malagasy people".

Until now, the safety and effectiveness of COVID-Organics have not been assessed internationally.

"COVID-Organics will be used as prophylaxis, that is for prevention, but clinical observations have shown a trend towards its effectiveness in curative treatment," said Dr. Charles Andrianjara, IMRA's director-general.

As at the time of this report, Madagascar has recorded a total of 121 coronavirus cases with no deaths and 58 recoveries, according to Worldometers.
