Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu has hinted that there could be another lockdown in Lagos State if people cou=ntinue to defy the curfew and social distancing orders already in place.

This is coming after the relaxation of a five-week lockdown on May 4 by the Federal Government.

Lagos, the epicentre of the deadly virus in Nigeria with at least 1,683 cases of COVID-19 out of almost 4,000 cases in the country, has found it difficult to maintain the social distancing and curfew orders.

As such, governor Sanwo-Olu warned that the state will take a painful decision things don not improve, during a press briefing on Saturday.

“As a Government elected to uphold security of its citizens, which include health security, we will not hesitate to review the terms of the easing of lockdown if we do not see an improvement in adherence to our public health guidelines in the next couple of days,” he said.

“We will be forced to take a painful decision of bringing the entire system under lockdown if we continue to see evidence that Lagosians are determined to flout the rules.”
