Kano is bleeding and we all know why

The biggest fear of an average Nigerian when the news of coronavirus broke out was the most populated cities of Lagos, Abuja and Kano.

It's a no brainer that the North's ignorance cum high sense of religion added with illiteracy could fuel several deaths before any help would arise.

Lagos and Abuja responded well in the eve of the COVID-19 virus until it spread to the North. This was after the Northern governors vowed never lockdown their states.

It grew from 20 cases to nearly 60 and before we knew it, mass bodies began to drop left and right in Kano. The death toll is near 600 but Governor Umar Ganduje does not believe it is COVID-19. To make matters worse, he is yet to step into the matter to tackle it properly, dismissing the mass deaths.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control is slightly complicit in this. After touring the state, Chikwe Ihekweazu, the Director-General chose to keep mute over what exactly was going on in the state.

The obvious fact is that COVID-19 has crept over the state. This is occasioned in the sickness of a few health workers who turned positive and the massive outcry in the state.

Kano is bleeding and we all know why.
