Health workers to reap juicy benefits for fighting COVID-19

Health workers would be the huge beneficiaries of allowances in the fight against coronavirus.

According to the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, certain allowance forms would be distributed to health workers actively involved in curbing the pandemic nationwide.

10% of Consolidated Basic Salary will be paid to non-core medical professionals working in the health sector and operating at aforementioned hospitals and clinics, as special COVID19 allowance, for three months in the first instance.

20% of Consolidated Basic Salary will be paid as Special Risk Allowance additionally on the Special COVID19 Hazard and Inducement Allowance, to all Health Workers directly managing COVID19 at Infectious Diseases Hospitals, Isolation and Treatment Centers.



40% of the Consolidated Basic Salary will be paid as Special COVID19 Hazard and Inducement Allowance to health workers at special non-public hospitals and clinics in Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies for a 3-month period in the first instance.

Also, Special COVID19 Hazard and Inducement Allowance of 50% of Consolidated Basic Salary is to be paid to all health workers in the FG Teaching Hospitals and the FMCs and designated #COVID19 centers, to last for the first 3 months in the first instance, the PTF on COVID19 said.
