Health insurance: OHIS to alleviate health care delivery challenges in Osun — ES, Dr Akindele

The Osun Health Issuance Scheme, OHIS has said the scheme is working with healthcare service providers across the state to help alleviate their challenges for good service delivery to all enrollee of the scheme.

Dr Abdulrasak Akindele, OHIS Executive Secretary who made this known on the sideline of a media parley with newsmen in Osogbo also said secondary delays and challenges faced in most accredited hospitals and other facilities is been identified and addressed.

Akindele said Issues related to hospital equipment, drugs with other health care system would be looked into and also ensure accredited facilities give the best to OHIS enrollees.

He said that the scheme would not relent in its efforts to intensified sensitisation and also increased advocacy on the benefits of providing qualitative health care services in the state.

"The acceptance of OHIS by informal workers have been a major challenge and the need for more awareness becomes paramount for their overall well-being.

"Also, stakeholders has a lot to play in ensuring that enrollees especially informal workers gets the best health care services," Akindele said.

The OHIS boss said the scheme is still accommodating more informal workers and will advise those who has not enroll to do so.

Commending the state governor, Ademola Adeleke for his unwavering support in the health sector which shows a good indication in the state, Dr Akindele explained that the scheme would continue to reward excellence , good work and commitment for the.

Akindele however advised healthcare providers to measure and monitor quality of care they offer to enrollees for safe, effective patient , efficient and equitable services.
