Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has tested negative for the novel coronavirus.

He made this statement via his official Twitter page, Wednesday evening.

Fayose said he was led to take the test due to his perceived exposure in the last 2 weeks.

He revealed that his test result was negative but urged Nigerians to take the test while observing the Government's stay at home directive.

"I took a COVID-19 test yesterday because of my perceived exposure in the last 2 weeks, I just got the result which is NEGATIVE. Notwithstanding, I will remain indoor like other Nigerians and I encourage more people to go for the test & remain at home in line with govt directive," the ex-governor said.
