The Managing Director, Paleon Memorial Hospital, Lagos, Dr Ngozi Onyia, has urged Nigerians to obey COVID-19 health advisory and guidelines.

Onyia said this on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 during the presentation of 10,000 face masks by Chint Group, a Chinese firm dealing in electronic products.

She said, “The previous health advisory guidelines have not changed; everybody in the public space should use a face mask; we should avoid touching our faces, wash our hands frequently and maintain physical distancing. I think if we do all these, we will be fine.”

The Country Manager, Michael Chen, said the donation was part of its contribution to the fight against COVID-19 in the country.

“We all know the medical workers, especially doctors and nurses, are fighting this virus directly and facing the risk every day. That is what motivated us to do something to support them. With the recommendation from the Chinese General Consulate in Lagos, we chose Paelon Memorial Hospital to accept those face masks.

This hospital is one of the very few private hospitals accredited by the Lagos State Ministry of Health to provide care to people with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 infection,” Chen said.
