Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has advised Nigerians to brace up for the economic impact coronavirus will have on the country.

Nigeria confirmed 12 cases of coronavirus which has forced the government to place a ban on gathering of more than 50 persons.

Schools and worship places are getting shut down with the likelihood of workplaces joining in as precaution against the spread of the virus.

Reacting to the development, Ezekwesili advised people to realign family priorities ahead of the effect on Nigeria's economy.

She wrote: "Brace up, Fellow Citizens. Brace up. The economic impact of the #CoronaVirusPandemic will be severe on our country. But do not despair. Make sound personal and household financial choices. Rearrange and realign personal and family Priorities immediately. Keep the Faith".
