A group of Kenyan pastors have requested that the government list churches under the categories of essential services.

The Kenyan government initiated a 24-hour lockdown on 27 March, biding on religious bodies such as churches and mosques to curb the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Those exempted from the lockdown are those categorized as "essential services" which are health workers, security officers, the media, food dealers and transporters among others.

As of April 3, the Kenyan health ministry has recorded a total of 122 positive coronavirus cases and four deaths, according to Worldometers statistic at 3:52 pm.
