Avoid men to stay safe from COVID-19 - Kenyan MP

Millie Odhiambo - Kenyan MP Millie Odhiambo - Kenyan MP

As Kenya battles to control the deadly coronavirus with a total of 59 cases so far, a Member of Parliament (MP) has urged Kenyans to avoid MEN.

MEN, according to the MP, refers to the mouth, eyes and nose, the body parts through which one can get infected with the deadly virus, ie, via contact with infected hands amidst other means of contraction.

She also made a joke and comparison of the coronavirus to lousy men and bad boyfriends, according to the BBC report.

"Avoid overcrowded places, like your boyfriend's heart," Millie Odhiambo said in parliament, quoting memorable health advice she said others have "jokingly" given.

"Mouth, eyes and the nose," she was then heard to say, apparently in reference to areas one should protect while out in public to avoid contracting the virus.

"If you are avoiding men, you are avoiding mouth, eyes and nose."
