Omokri comes hard at politicians for wasting the nation's resources

Former Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria, Reno Omokri has launched an attack on the Group Managing Director GMD of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Kyari Mele for wasting the nation's resources alongside other powerful political figures.

In an opinion piece titled "The Day It Rained Private Jets In Maiduguri," he came hard at the NNPC boss and a few other politicians for siphoning public funds only to lavish them chartering private jets for weddings and other inconsequential ceremonies.

Running a side by side comparison between Nigerian politicians and American politicians, the former SA could not understand why so much money would be lavished on frivolities, while Nigeria's oil and gas industry continually languishes in debt.

Matters were made worse by the fact that international delegates were usually invited for these pomp and pageantry ceremonies but they do not spend as much as politicians do.

A very livid Reno Omokri continued to lambaste Kyari and a host of other politicians for showing off over 40 of their jets in Maiduguri yet abandoning the land to scorn, bandits and terrorism.
