The Galadima Road Traders Association in Kano State has expressed its grief over the damage of their vehicles by the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

At a time when riots are erupting in the east of the country, IPOB members are claimed to have destroyed two trucks delivering palm oil worth over 77 million dollars.

Mustapha Shu'aibu Sulaiman, the chairman of the trader's organization, told reporters that the two trucks were carrying 2,544 jerry cans of palm oil. One had 1,056 passengers, while the other had 1,488.

The products, he claims, belong to their members, who number around 50 and are largely small company owners. Some have only 20 jerry cans, while others have 50, and so forth. And for the most part, it was all they had, and now the supplies, as well as the vehicles, have been destroyed.”

The traders said that the Kano State government was unconcerned about their condition.

Entrepreneurs have pleaded with governments at all levels, particularly at the federal level, to assist them in recouping their losses.
