The Biafra Nations League, BNL, has said it would not join in the proposed protest at the Federal High Court in demand for the release of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

The group said that IPOB has not reached out to it on their next line of action.

Head of Operations of BNL, Henry Edet disclosed this in a statement in Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State on Sunday.

There are speculations that members of various secessionist groups will protest on July 26 protest at the Abuja High Court to demand the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

“I saw some YouTube channels mentioning that we will be part of the protest, I’m not aware. As the head of operations, any action my group wants to take I am the person that will handle it.

“For now my group have not disclosed to me that we shall be participating in protest anywhere.

“The IPOB leadership has not reached out to us on that, so we can’t be faster than them, “.

The group said it won’t condemn any action the IPOB takes in ensuring that Kanu was free, while it also advised IPOB to look beyond protests.

The Federal Government had recently threatened to go after IPOB collaborators including other separatists groups such as BNL and the group said it would not be deterred by the threat.
