Popular comedian and skit maker Broda Shaggi has recounted the moment he was hit by a stray bullet, describing a near-death experience that began in a traffic holdup.
In a video he shared online, the entertainer, whose real name is Samuel Perry, said he and his team had just finished an activation and were heading home when they got stuck in traffic.
"We were done with the activation and were on our way when we got stuck in a holdup. Suddenly, I heard a loud bang and everywhere went silent. I could see people talking, but I couldn't hear what they were saying," he said.
He said he only understood what had happened when he checked himself.
"Then I touched my hip and saw blood. That was when it dawned on me that I had been hit by a stray bullet," he said.
Broda Shaggi was reported to have been hospitalised in March 2026 after allegedly being shot in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
Early reports said he was rushed to Blooming Care Hospital in Alakuko, Lagos, then referred to Duchess Hospital in Ikeja, where he recuperated. The Lagos Police Command said it was alerted by the hospital that received a gunshot victim, and that detectives found him on a stretcher with an injury to his thigh.
