Prominent Nigerian fashion designer and entrepreneur Veekee James has delivered practical advice to single men and women seeking life partners, urging them to stop waiting idly at home and intentionally step into social spaces.

The fashion icon gave the advice on Sunday, October 18, 2026, during a panel session at the Next Level Singles' Prayer Conference (NLP) hosted by Harvesters International Christian Centre in Lagos.

Addressing the audience, the designer challenged a widespread mindset among Christian women who believe a husband will locate them without active effort on their part.

"You're just wasting your beauty. You are too beautiful to be hiding. You're just in the house. Every time they want to go out, you're not ready to go out. Do shakara. Make them see you. Show yourself to the world," Veekee James stated.

Stressing that finding a partner requires effort from both sides, she pushed back against the expectation that only women should do the work to attract a partner.

"It's not every time it's as if only women should be doing the work. We too, we are the price. Uncle, you too, be coming to where we are going so that we will see you there," she added, directing her comments to single men in the auditorium.

The entrepreneur, who frequently shares perspectives on relationship dynamics, faith, and marriage, likened deliberate social effort to moving up a prayer list.

"A lot of people are asking God for a husband. But action might bring you to the front of the list. I believe that God has many children. But when I want God to do something for me, I always tell him, prioritise me. Singles should definitely be intentional about putting themselves out there. Don't just sit in the house. And God will do the rest," she concluded.
