Popular Nigerian actress and content creator Olayode Juliana has stirred intense debate across social media after releasing a strongly worded statement asserting that individuals cannot simultaneously identify as LGBTQ+ and Christian.

In a series of digital posts shared across her social media handles, the actress criticized modern theological perspectives that attempt to reconcile queer identity with Christian faith, framing them as a distortion of biblical teachings.

"You cannot be gay and be a Christian. There are so many teachings flying around saying that you can be gay, queer etc. and be a Christian. They say it coexists without conflict. But as Christians, we must ask: What does the Word of God actually say? Are we allowing the Word to shape our convictions, or are we reshaping the Word to accommodate our desires?," Juliana wrote.

Expanding on her stance, Juliana argued that accepting Christ requires total submission in all aspects of life, leaving no room for personal or lifestyle exceptions.

"No area of your life is exempt," she stated. "Sometimes we want Jesus to be Lord over certain areas of our lives while we remain in control of others. But when you come to Christ, every part of your life is under His Lordship. Your 'personal life', work, relationships, sexual life, your identity, everything, belongs to Him."

The actress also expressed deep concern over the moral direction of contemporary society and the church, warning that younger generations are increasingly vulnerable to shifting cultural norms.

"We are not ready for the consequences of the things we are indulging in as a society and even within the Church. Are we so blinded that we cannot see what is happening? It is no longer just adults; teenagers and children are also being influenced.

"Some parents live in constant fear, praying and hoping that their children will not be manipulated or led astray. But how long will we remain silent? How long will we sit on the fence?," Juliana cautioned.

Urging believers and church leaders to take a firm stand, Juliana called for a return to traditional scriptural authority. She concluded with a direct appeal to both newcomers to the faith and those experiencing internal struggles:

"We must return to the truth of God's Word. We must study it, LIVE by it, teach it diligently, speak against false teachings, and boldly proclaim the truth of Scripture," she wrote.

"The Church cannot afford to be silent. We must stand firmly on the truth of God's Word, with love, wisdom, and conviction... Please don't believe these false teachings and doctrine. If you are just coming into the faith, do not allow popular culture/ opinion to become your standard," she added.

The actress's remarks have since ignited a polarized wave of online commentary, amplifying ongoing national and global discussions regarding religious orthodoxy, social tolerance, and LGBTQ+ inclusivity within religious communities.
