Omotola Jalade has opened up about her marriage, disclosing that there are periods when she does not feel in love with her husband.

Speaking in an interview shared on X on October 2, 2026, the actress explained that lasting marriages are not built on constant feelings of love but on commitment, understanding, and a shared purpose.

According to Omotola, she and her husband understand that they chose each other and made a commitment to build a life together.

Reflecting on nearly two decades of marriage, she admitted that there are times when she does not feel in love with her husband.

“He knows that I'm not with him because I love him all the time. I'm with him because God has given me a mandate to be by his side, and vice versa. So there are times when I see him, and I'm not too much in love with him; I report him to God, and I'm like, hey, what's up now? Are you going to make it come around? Because right now, he's not looking good.

“I am honouring him, not because I love him too much, but because I'm the one who is above him, who has given me the mandate to be with him. And I wait it out till it comes back,” she said.

Omotola further detailed that their marriage is open and free to the point where she can freely have a conversation with her husband about a guy she has a crush on.

“There are times I look at him, and I'm like, somebody needs to remind me why I chose this guy. Because right now I can't remember. I'm like, loss of memory right now. So those days will come and vice versa, you know, so there are days I see guys too that are looking fantabulous,” she stated.

Omotola also advised young couples to be open in their marriages and avoid being too strict.

“I think the problem in life is people try to be fake. They try to act like, relax yourself. It's not that serious. You are a human being. That's what you are.

“But when you choose someone as a partner in life, be open with them. Discuss things with them. And if God helps you and you have a good value system, life will be easy,” she added.
