Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker Richard Mofe-Damijo, popularly known as RMD, has challenged Nigerians to move beyond passive criticism and actively contribute to national development by offering constructive solutions.

Speaking at the 2026 Pivot Nigeria Conference in Lagos, RMD acknowledged the socio-economic hurdles confronting the country but stressed that identifying national problems must be paired with a commitment to fixing them.

"There are problems, but we need to fix them. Don’t stand and just criticise and propose no solution," RMD stated AS REPORTED BY InstaBlog.

The veteran actor also underscored the importance of rigorous civic oversight, arguing that citizens currently fail to demand sufficient transparency and responsibility from those in public office.

"We don’t hold leadership accountable enough," he noted, emphasizing that elected officials must recognize their fundamental duty to the populace.

Addressing international perception, RMD reminded attendees that individual behavior abroad directly shapes the country’s global image.

"Just remember who you are. You are an ambassador, not just for yourself, your parents or your school, but ultimately for your country," he said, describing Nigeria as an ongoing "work in progress" that requires collective patience and sustained effort.
