Former Big Brother Naija housemate and media personality Terseer Waya, popularly known as Kiddwaya, has issued a sharp critique of the proliferating trade in counterfeit food, drinks, and farm produce across Nigeria, describing the practice as "beyond evil".

In a public statement shared on his social media account, the reality TV star expressed frustration over the moral collapse that permits individuals to knowingly distribute hazardous consumable goods to unsuspecting citizens.

"Are we genuinely bad people? Like I really want to know. The fact that we can look each other in the face and sell fake produce that will kill us is beyond evil," Kiddwaya wrote.

He noted that the proliferation of counterfeit goods has rapidly expanded beyond illicitly blended alcohol to essential household staples.

"It used to be just alcohol, now it's banana, tomatoes and everyday produce. So make we just all kpai ourselves abi?" he added.

Kiddwaya’s comments follow a series of law enforcement operations and regulatory raids across the country, resulting in the arrests of syndicates manufacturing fake sachet water, carbonated soft drinks, and counterfeit spirits in unsanitary conditions.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has intensified nationwide enforcement against illegal factories, counterfeit beverage rings, and chemically ripened agricultural products to mitigate severe public health risks, including organ damage and food poisoning.
