Actor and skit maker Akinyoola Ayoola, popularly known as Kamo State, has set the record straight regarding senior colleague Funke Akindele's absence from the star-studded premiere of his debut cinema film, Star Lomo, in Lagos.

The box office queen’s absence at the Sunday event ignited widespread speculation on social media, with critics accusing her of failing to support close associates during pivotal moments in their careers.

However, clearing the air in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, Kamo State revealed that the real reason Akindele missed the event was simply because she was out of the country. Reports indicated the actress was in Ghana alongside singer Waje on project commitments for her upcoming film, The Four.

"I woke up to see different opinions online about Iyamii and myself. Please, we’re on good terms," Kamo State stated, reassuring fans that they remain close. "Don’t assume otherwise. We spoke about the premiere, and she remains committed to supporting the movie."

Kamo's clarification followed a wave of online criticism directed at Akindele during a TikTok live session, where commenters cited her absence at events hosted by industry associates—including Esther Kalejaye, Folagbade Banks, and Tobi Makinde—as an alleged pattern of withdrawing support.

Dismissing the rift rumors, Kamo State urged fans and commentators to halt the speculation surrounding their personal relationship and redirect their focus toward supporting his cinematic debut.
