Nigerian musician Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, popularly known as Skales, has publicly called out security authorities and government institutions over their perceived inaction regarding a sitting senator allegedly linked to terrorism.

In a post shared on X, the singer expressed frustration with the silence surrounding the allegations, questioning why the lawmaker in question has not faced immediate arrest or a formal investigation.

His comments come following whistleblower allegations made by a man identified as Hassan Fulani against Senator Shehu Buba Umar, the lawmaker representing Bauchi South Senatorial District and former Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence.

Hassan alleged that equipment intended for bandit operations (including supplies linked to terror figure Bello Turji) were routed through or facilitated by people connected to Senator Umar.

Pointing to a double standard in how allegations against political figures are handled, Skales voiced concern over the security implications of the situation.

"Why is no one taking the fact that a senator was exposed for allegedly having relations with terrorist serious ... why hasn’t he been arrested and investigated yet?" Skales posted.

His comments join those of various personalities who have called for tangible action by the government surrounding the allegations.

Meanwhile, Senator Umar has strongly denied all allegations, calling them a politically motivated smear campaign designed to destroy his reputation.
