The Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board (LSFVCB) has expressed deep sadness over the tragic security incident at Filmhouse Cinema in Lekki, Lagos State.

Reports have it that a man stormed the cinema and stabbed two security men. The attacker and one of the security men died on the spot, while the other victim was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Reacting, the LSFVCB extended its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the security officer who lost his life. We also wish the injured person a speedy and full recovery.

The board said the unfortunate incident is a stark reminder of the importance of maintaining effective safety and security measures at cinemas and other entertainment facilities across Lagos State.

"While the relevant security agencies continue their investigations, the LSFVCB urged the public to remain calm and refrain from speculation or the circulation of unverified information.

"The safety and well-being of cinema patrons, employees, and all stakeholders in the entertainment industry remain of utmost importance. The Board calls on cinema operators and other stakeholders to continually review and strengthen their security and emergency-response measures in collaboration with the appropriate security agencies.

"Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by the unfortunate incident," LSFVCB said.
