Nollywood actor Awesome Chidiebere has asserted that second wives and side chicks cannot genuinely love a man, claiming that their motivations are strictly tied to financial gain or power.

In a post shared across his social media platforms, Chidiebere argued that women are naturally do not like sharing their partners, which fundamentally alters their emotional commitment when they realize a man is already involved with someone else.

"No second wife loves her husband genuinely, no side chick loves her man sincerely. It is not possible!" Chidiebere asserted. "When a man approaches a woman and asks if she has a boyfriend and she says yes, many men do not mind. But if a woman realises that the man she is in a relationship with already has a woman, in her mind, she begins to take a step back. Naturally, women do not like to share."

The actor further detailed how a woman’s affection shifts once she enters a polygamous or extra-marital dynamic, insisting that genuine devotion is exclusive to a man's first wife.

"And her aim and love begins to switch. If she was going to love you genuinely, she will only stay because the man has money or power," he said.

"Only the first wife can love the man genuinely. That is why most men who practise polygamy regret their decisions," Chidiebere added.

Chidiebere claimed that men who marry multiple wives often return to their first wives whenever they seek authentic emotional connection and comfort.

"A man can marry a second wife and move in with her. But when they want to feel love, they go and spend time with their first wives. It becomes some sort of healing for them," he concluded.

His remarks have since drawn mixed reactions online, with some users supporting his views on traditional loyalty, while others argue that love and relationship dynamics depend on individual character rather than order of marriage.
