Popular Nigerian comedian and actor, Ayo Makun, widely known as AY, has called out the culture of hasty public judgment on social media, criticizing the public's tendency to side with whoever tells their story first.

In a post shared via his X page on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, the veteran entertainer described online public opinion as a "court of injustice" that often fails to consider full context before condemning individuals.

"The social media court of injustice has always favoured the first-served narrative, often rushing to immediate judgment before the other side is even heard," AY stated.

The filmmaker expressed hope that social media users will eventually adopt a more balanced approach when dealing with online controversies and public disputes.

"I look forward to the day when social media fully embraces one simple truth: there are always two sides to every story," he noted.

He added that recent online conversations suggest public perception may gradually be shifting toward fairness.

"Interestingly, with some of the recent trends online, it feels like we’re gradually getting there."
