Afrobeats superstar Davido has reflected on his decade-long journey in the music industry, crediting Afrobeats pioneers for paving the way while predicting an even bigger future for the next generation of African artistes.

Speaking in a recent interview, the 'Unavailable' hitmaker acknowledged that the global recognition African music enjoys today is the result of sacrifices made by legendary figures who came before him.

"I just did 10 years, but it takes time to understand that what we're sacrificing now, what P-Square and D'Banj and 2Baba sacrificed for us, is what we're enjoying now," Davido stated.

Looking ahead, the award-winning singer expressed optimism about the future of African music, emphasising that current sacrifices by today’s top stars will elevate upcoming talent to even greater heights.

"What we're sacrificing now, the next generation is going to come and be bigger, definitely, because the music is only going to grow bigger," he added.

Davido’s comments come as Afrobeats continues its dominance on the global stage, with African artistes consistently breaking records, filling arenas worldwide, and securing major international awards.
