Crossdresser James Brown has spoken out following an altercation over his identity, saying he will no longer tolerate disrespect.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, the entertainer was seen confronting a man as his crew and bystanders held him back.

Speaking after the incident, James said he was trying to settle an issue involving his team when the man shifted focus and began attacking his identity instead.

The crossdresser said many people see a feminine person as an easy target, but described that mindset as a mistake.

Brown wrote, “They see a feminine person and immediately think, “Easy target. That’s where they get it wrong.”

“The biggest mistake you can make is confusing femininity with weakness. Looking soft doesn’t mean I break easily. Smiling doesn’t mean I’m scared. Being graceful doesn’t mean I won’t defend my dignity.”

James noted that the confrontation happened because “someone thought disrespect was free.”

“This video happened because someone thought disrespect was free. While I was trying to settle an issue involving my team, he stopped talking about the matter and started attacking my identity instead.

“Here’s the lesson: You don’t have to like me. You don’t have to understand me. But you will respect me,” he said.

The entertainer said he has endured years of name-calling but has refused to disappear.

“I’ve been called every name in the book, yet I’m still here. Every insult became fuel. Every attempt to break me became another reason I refused to disappear.

“People love to test those they think won’t respond. Choose wisely. The same confidence you mock is the same confidence that built my name. I’m not asking the world to accept me. I’m simply reminding everyone that respect is not optional.

“Now tell me…Why do some people mistake femininity for weakness?” he added.
