World Cup: Drake bets $770,000 on Canada to defeat South Africa

Canadian rapper Drake has placed a $770,000 bet, approximately N1.07 billion, on Canada to beat South Africa in the Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Betting platform Stake announced the wager on Sunday.

According to Stake, Drake could win $1 million if Canada advances past South Africa.

The artist also referenced a direct-message exchange with South African DJ Black Coffee when announcing the bet.

“#realblackcoffee was chirping in the DM. I had to raise my stakes”, he wrote.

Canada and South Africa are scheduled to meet in a knockout-stage match, with the winner progressing further in the tournament.
