Actress and media personality Nancy Isime has suggested that truly loving children could, in some cases, mean deciding not to bring them into the world because of life’s challenges.
She made the remarks during a recent appearance on the ‘Thanks For Coming’ podcast, where she was asked how many children she would like to have.
“You know the craziest thing about loving children? I feel like if you really love children, you wouldn’t want to bring them into the world,” she said.
Rather than stating a preferred number of children, Isime reflected on everyday struggles and the broader realities of life.
She questioned whether having children is always an act of love, pointing to the difficulties many people face daily. She also asked whether the interviewer had ever experienced suffering, wished they had not been born, or struggled with life’s demands.
“Are you not suffering today? Have you not seen me today? Is Earth not ghetto? Are you not going through a lot? Don’t you wish some days that you were not born?” she asked.
Despite her comments, Isime said she has not ruled out parenthood. She added that everyone faces suffering, and children would experience their own.
“No. Everybody has to suffer. They’ll come and suffer their own. They’re not gonna escape it.”
